Ok so I’m finally able to admit that I’m a bit of a choco-holic! BUT I still like to be healthy. The great news is that it’s totally possible – you just have to go about it the right way.
Choosing the RIGHT foods that are of high quality and nutritional value is always important. Avoiding artificial sweeteners, colors, and flavours as well as added sugars and processed foods is all equally as important. I also try to eat a plant-based diet, so ensuring there is no milk or eggs in my treats is also important to me! So here’s what you do…. find a way that gets all of these boxes checked off, AND that satisfies those chocolatey-cravings – SIMPLE!
I hope these words excite you as much as they excite me….
NO BAKE + EASY TO MAKE
These no-bake + easy-to-make oat bars are seriously chewy and delicious. They are 100% plant-based and are made with all natural ingredients. These bars make such a great snack, grab + go breakfast, or even just to satisfy that chocolate urge.
I used Detox Organics chocolate detox powder in the recipe. I heard great things about this superfood blend and was super excited when Vista Magazine sent some my way! I couldn’t wait to give it a try and YEP turns out it’s awesome! Not only does it taste good, it’s packed with 25 organic superfoods that make you feel full and satisfied quickly! I love that I can bake with it and that it brings so much nutritional value (and chocolatey flavour) without causing me to make a huge mess of a hundred ingredients on the kitchen counter.
The Detox Organics superfoods formula eases digestion, promotes detoxification, reduces inflammation, and increases energy – meaning, weight loss can be a side-benefit to it’s use! Great news for those who are interested in that aspect!
The plant-based blend includes ingredients such as leafy greens (vitamin + mineral rich), coconut water (hydration), turmeric (anti-inflammatory), ginger root (digestive support), chlorella (detox support), acai (antioxidant), plus so much more. - Slowly mix in the chocolate chips.
- Coat the pan or baking dish with coconut oil.
- Lay the batter on the pan or baking dish and pat down so the mixture is flattened to desired thickness.
